Thursday, Friday take too long
Thursday was my day to recuperate from being so busy... It was also the day of the migraine.
Friday, I was back in the saddle. My day at my internship went well. I was having more success with the coding. Moreover, I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel on the programming. Now they are looking to see what I want to work on. Moreover, there should be some server administration work soon. I am looking forward to that.
Wednesday, I feel better just for spite...
Today I had a slight setback with my programming... I was asked to add more content to the page, and after I attempted to code the new content, the page didn't work. After about two hours of trying to find my problem, I asked Andy to look at it... He found that I had failed to put an "s" on the end of one of the names of a stored procedure that I was referencing. This is why coding can really suck!
Today was also a day of exploring the area around my internship. During my lunch hour, I walked a few blocks each way before grabbing lunch at a local delicatessen. As I found with Chargrill Charlie's last week, lunch costs you $10. A little pricey, but what do you expect for being in an upscale area.
I had to leave a 4:30 as class is at 6 and I have an hour bus ride. Class was just about like Monday, but we were all much more tired. However, I did find out that it is fine that I miss class on the 31st. My plan is to go upto Townsville to visit Theresa (another Albion student). She is studying at James Cook University. While up there, we may go over to Magnetic Island as well. I am looking forward to the trip, and flights from Sydney to Townsville are pretty good priced.
Tuesday, I feel a little sideways.
Success, was the mood today. I was successful at getting Coldfusion code to run without having to ask for help... This is a big thing as I have been working with Coldfusion a lot and trying to learn it.
The atmosphere at my internship has been just a quiet pace... I figured the group would have moments where they all seem to bond and have meetings together, but I haven't seen it happen yet. I will have to wait this one out.
Except for Monday which was never good anyway
Class was the same as it always is... The professors talks in circles and doesn't understand why when he asks a question... That we don't respond... lol.
The good news is that after talking to the director of the internship program, it looks like I am not going to have to complete the standard course work. I will be submitting to them the same work that I submit to Albion for credit for the internship. It makes more sense as why should I write papers about my internship for BU when that class will not transfer and I will just get credit for my intership.
Not too much else to report...
The Weekend
The weekend was fun... It was finally my chance to relax. I feel refreshed after the long week. Today I slept in til 12:30. I must have needed it. Well.. Not to much to say just that I am ready for a new week...
I forgot to put in Thursday's post...
I went to the Dendy Theatre and say Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room. The movie was pretty good. I felt like I was watching a Michael Moore film, given the style, but the was better than one of his films. Too bad it is only limited release both in Australia and in the US.
How I almost died today:
1. Slept too long
2. Migraine
